Social Action Commission

“I say to you, what you did not do for these least ones you did not do for me.”

Mission Statement

Holy Trinity Social Action Commission acts to expand parish awareness of responsibilities in Catholic social teaching and provides opportunities for parishioners to fulfill responsibilities, including preparation in, but not limited to, advocacy programs and hands-on activities.

Purposes

  • Speak out on community concerns
  • Develop strategies and programs
  • Legislative advocacy
  • Perceive parish and community needs
  • Advise the Pastor

Membership

Membership includes the Pastor, two parish council members and other parishioners who desire to get involved in social justice issues.

At the meetings members discuss current social justice and peace issues and develop projects regarding them such as:

  • Catch the Building Spirit
  • Human Rights Issues
  • LEAD
  • Legislative issues
  • Project Blessing luncheons
  • Weavers of Justice
